Machine Tool - AM

The course is designed to familiarize students with basic metalworking skills. After learning basic blueprint reading and precision measurements, the students use hand tool and metal cutting machines to manufacture precision metal parts. The first year training involves the safe and proper operation of conventional (manual) machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill press and grinders.

The Precision Machining program will be training students for NIMS credentialing. The National Institute of metalworking Skills are standards developed by industry. Students can earn national certificates that are recognized nationally and promoted by industry. VISIT NIMS for more information.
